General Definition of Work
Performs work responsible for the maintenance of city parks and facilities and assists with leading crews on daily projects.
Essential Functions
● Provides upkeep, repair and maintenance of city facilities and parks. Typical tasks involve carpentry, painting, construction, roofing, remodeling, plumbing, landscaping and horticultural responsibilities.
● Assists with leading full and part-time crews on daily assigned work.
● Maintains and repairs maintenance equipment.
● Inspects, trims, plants, mulches, trees, flowers and shrubs.
● Removes trash, debris, snow and clean restrooms.
● Identifies park and facility related maintenance needs and develops plans for project completion.
● Available to respond and to work weekend as needed. Participates in a rotation of weekend coverage ensuring cleanliness of shelters, bathrooms and trash removal.
● Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
● Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.
● Must have the ability to obtain a valid Missouri Class “B” CDL license.
● Qualified applicants must possess a valid driver’s license.
Salary per hour $17.15, plus a generous benefit package.
- Bi-weekly pay periods.
- Twelve paid holidays per year.
- 96 hours of vacation – accrued throughout the year.
- 96 hours of sick leave – accrued throughout the year.
- 2 days of personal leave per fiscal year. Must be employed on July 1 of the fiscal year to receive.
- City paid monthly premiums for health and dental insurance – Employee only.
- City paid monthly life insurance for employee only (1 times annual salary up to $50,000).
- Optional group term life insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
- Optional vision insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
- Voluntary deferred compensation plan – not matched by the City.

- Total compensation value (Hourly starting rate plus benefits value) for this position is $25.98 hourly/$54,035 yearly.
