POSITION TYPE: Hourly, Non-Exempt

The total compensation value for this position is $27.75 hourly/$57,712 yearly, which consists of the starting hourly rate plus the benefit package. JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing technical duties in the operation of a solid waste collection vehicle.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Operates automated refuse/recycling truck on an assigned route.
- Maintains all vehicle records and reports.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Assists in the operation and maintenance of the Transfer Station and Recycling Center when needed.
- Responds to emergency call out situations as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
- Knowledge of the vehicles and equipment used in Solid Waste processes.
- Knowledge of city streets, geography and refuse/recycling routes.
- Knowledge of department, state, and federal safety regulations and guidelines.
- Skill in the operation of automated refuse/recycling trucks.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must comply with Missouri CDL requirements and possess and maintain a valid Class B or better CDL with air brake endorsement.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- One (1) year experience in Solid Waste and/or Recycling or related field operating Solid Waste and/or Recycling or similar vehicles and equipment.
