JOB
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Responsible for supervision of the operations of the A.C. Brase Arena including scheduling, overseeing maintenance operations, recreation operations and development and implementation of facility policies.
- Responsible for the planning and implementation of leagues, programs and events along with the safe operation of the facility which includes cleanliness, set up and take down of equipment and concessions, for rentals and programs.
- Hires, trains, schedules and supervises personnel. Ensures personnel have proper training and follow organization safety protocols.
- Assists in the coordination of facility rentals, tours, contract development and scheduling. Ensures quality customer service for facility rental groups and program participants.
- Assists in the development of operational budgets and effectively tracks expenditures and revenue to meet organizational goals.
- Provides physical assistance as needed for set up and clean-up of events and regular facility maintenance.
- Promotes programs and events through city web site, social media, flyers and informational brochures, and community outreach.
- Effectively and proactively communicates with facility rental groups ensuring all rental requirements are met and event plans are finalized and communicated to necessary personnel.
- Responds as needed to after-hours calls. Works weekends, evenings and holidays as needed for management of programs and events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
- Knowledge of sports rules and current trends in recreation.
- General knowledge of the principles or organizing and planning recreational programs.
- Knowledge of food management, concession operations, liquor control and health code regulations
- Knowledge of facility operations, safety and cleanliness standards
- Skill in the operation of computers and various software programs
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Knowledge of risk management procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license.
- Experience sufficient to understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems
Salary $44,794 per year, plus a generous benefit package.
- Bi-weekly pay periods.
- Thirteen paid holidays per year.
- 96 hours of vacation – accrued throughout the year.
- 96 hours of sick leave – accrued throughout the year.
- 2 days of personal leave per fiscal year. Must be employed on July 1 of the fiscal year to receive.
- City paid monthly premiums for health and dental insurance – Employee only.
- City paid monthly life insurance for employee only (1 times annual salary up to $50,000).
- Optional group term life insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
- Optional vision insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
- Voluntary deferred compensation plan – not matched by the City.

- Total compensation value (salary plus benefit value) for this position is $63,468.99 yearly.
