Description

General Definition of Work

Performs work responsible for developing and coordinating recreational programs, leagues and special events, recreation facility oversight and management of food concession operations for the City of Cape Girardeau.

 

Essential Functions

Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates part-time staff.

Plans, develops, implements and evaluates recreation leagues, tournaments, classes and special events.

Manages concession operations at various facilities and tracks inventory, expenditures and revenues.

Coordinates and develops staff schedules for recreation events, concessions, leagues and various programs

Tracks employees’ hours and assists in completion of various payroll reports.

Prepares recreation and concession reports.

Provides quality customer service.

Responds as needed to after-hours calls.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Experience and knowledge sufficient to perform the major duties and essential functions required of the position.

Possession of a valid driver’s license.

 

Salary per year $42,604 plus a generous benefit package.

  • Bi-weekly pay periods.
  • Twelve paid holidays per year.
  • 96 hours of vacation – accrued throughout the year.
  • 96 hours of sick leave – accrued throughout the year.
  • days of personal leave per fiscal year. Must be employed on July 1 of the fiscal year to receive.
  • City paid monthly premiums for health and dental insurance – Employee only.
  • City paid monthly life insurance for employee only (1 times annual salary up to $50,000).
  • Optional group term life insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
  • Optional vision insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
  • Voluntary deferred compensation plan – not matched by the City.

  • Total compensation value (Hourly starting rate plus benefits value) for this position is $63,262 yearly.
