Description

General Definition of Work

Performs works responsible for assisting in designing projects, preparing plans and drawings and providing assistance to the general public and other city departments.


Essential Functions

Prepares construction plans according to the engineer’s instructions.

Assists in preparing various maps for council and public meetings.

Performs lateral duties as project manager.

Assists developers, builders and contractor by providing street, water and sewer technical information.

Assists the public by providing dimensions for street right-of-way and utility easements.

Researches city and county records for current ownership and tax-billed projects.

Acquires state and federal construction permits for various projects.

Assists the survey tech in locating land information for land survey.

Assists with projection inspections and performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent with knowledge of AutoCad.

Valid driver’s license.

Associates Degree in Drafting Technology or related field or education/experience in the area of drafting or related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Related Technical School course.

B.S. in Drafting Technology or related field.

One (1) year experience.


Salary per hour $20.91, plus a generous benefit package.

  • Bi-weekly pay periods.
  • Twelve paid holidays per year.
  • 96 hours of vacation – accrued throughout the year.
  • 96 hours of sick leave – accrued throughout the year.
  • 2 days of personal leave per fiscal year. Must be employed on July 1 of the fiscal year to receive.
  • City paid monthly premiums for health and dental insurance – Employee only.
  • City paid monthly life insurance for employee only (1 times annual salary up to $50,000).
  • Optional group term life insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
  • Optional vision insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
  • Voluntary deferred compensation plan – not matched by the City.

  • Total compensation value (Hourly starting rate plus benefits value) for this position is $30.75 hourly/$63,967 yearly.
